Join us at our annual GVJCCA Wild Salmon BBQ & Musubi SPAM Sushi Booth, and our Community Photo Booth at the 41st Powell Street Festival.
You can enjoy a delicious fresh salmon dinner with rice and salad, and Musubi (sweet and salty grilled pork on sushi rice and wrapped with nori (seaweed)) at our usual spot, at the corner of Jackson and Powell Streets near the Vancouver Buddhist Temple, from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 5 and Sunday, August 6.
Check out the GVJCCA Community booth where we will have photos and highlights of our current work, and we will be selling our Honouring Our People book. Have fun at our photo booth with some new signs featuring our popular musubi and salmon. Our community booth will be in Oppenheimer Park along with other Japanese Canadian groups.
Our BBQ and Musubi food booth is our major fundraiser for the year so not only will you enjoy delicious fresh salmon and musubi, you are helping us with our important work such as producing The Bulletin community magazine, sharing stories of our Japanese Canadian community, and protecting the rights of Canadians facing racism and discrimination.
Thank you for your continued support.
